It had to happen eventually, a newbie.  Charlie is a DILLIGAS newbie and is on triple secret probation, where he's limited to an antenna height of no more than six feet and 1KW of power.  He must use old rebuilt gear to ensure the charter members sound better at all times. 

Charlie is a former Broadcast Engineer and long time communications  industry professional.  He's presently some kind of lead for one of the leading cell phone companies we'll not  mention.

He lives in a restricted neighborhood in Jackson, Mississippi, so he has to use a hidden antennas and therefore is of questionable judgment.   After he tuned up the Governor of Mississippi's CB hunting radio, he was named to some state committee that spends money in communications and has put in for a fat expense account that he's going to use to buy a 7800 and put on his 6' dipole.

Charlie says he's looking forward to living long enough to complete the newbie initiation process and surviving the spankings and RF burns.
